Hi Yuriy,


Is it possible to use a nano instead of a uno....I have a very small lathe Sieg C1.
The BT module is also very small so I would minimize build the box.
It is possible to put the kernel of the uno in to the nano, will the DRO software also work with the nano ?
BTW, how to connect the tachometer (rpm) to the DRO, I can not find it anywhere on the site.

Rob,
Nano and Uno use the same chip, so they are interchangeable. That said, I stopped working on Arduino firmware some time ago because it has more stability issues, so I personally would take bigger box and use either scratch-built MSP430 version or get a pre-made board. In the long run the cost is not that unreasonable and the board is very reliable. Futhermore, as I add new features to the app, I will keep MSP430 firmware up to date, so you will better future proofing.

I understand, but when I buy the MSP430 to the Netherlands I have to pay a lot more.
If the item cost are more then 22 euro I have to pay tax (22% of 56$) and customs (2.5% of totalcost).
(I assume that your address is not in Europe (?))
And.....I have a couple of nano's and (5Volt) BT-modules I don't use (anymore).
Your Arduino DRO project was given me a project of my own to use this modules for "something" else.

Hello -- I, too, am a big fan of the arduino platform and while there has been much focus on the MSP430 on this forum and Yuri's use of it for his commercial boards, it's quite easy to make an arduino that is compatible with the App. You can find a description of my version here: http://mirskytech.com/touchdro-for-sherline-rev-2/

I'll take a look of it but I have the Arduino-Nano, jy-MCU bluetooth and 1,5 Volt calipers.
So I have also some chages making into your schematic.
