Hi Norman,
I'm not sure it would be a good idea to swap the displays : the older needs 2 CR2032 batteries, the new one only needs 1.

I have no oscilloscope.

So it seems that there is no solution to this problem.

Also please note that there are no more USB plugs between the Shahe scales and their displays. So you will have to solder a plug at the end of the wire to connect the scale to the board.
