Rotary table encoder readout?
#1
Would it be possible to use the W axis in the Quad software to show rotary table position, if an encoder was fitted?

Philip,
Yes. That is the primary function of the W axis now. There are no changes to the firmware; in the app you need to select the correct mode for the axis and it will display degrees.
Thank you

I'm thinking of adding a separate controller for this due to wanting to reserve the W axis for a combined Z axis display between the knee and quill.
However, one thing I've talked to Brian Quinn about is the possibility of adding a gear cutting option with inut from a rotary encoder on an indexer. Sort of a menu to input gear diameter and number of teeth.
