I'm thinking of buying a DRO kit using the MSP430 Launchpad board 
I'm new to all this, is there any videos on youtube showing how to asssemble all the parts?

Eddie,
No, there is no video, but there are instructions on the blog.
Unless you specifically need the Mixed Scale kit (i.e. will be using calipers of Sylvac scales), you should probably get the pre-assembled board. It involves very minimal amount of soldering, if any.
