Touch DRO
#1
Hi Yuriy,

When do you think you will release the next beta version of the app? I'm looking forward to trying out the new features. Very interested to see how the curve feature will work.

Will the update include touch probe functionality as well?

Regards
Mark

Now I feel pressured to reply in bold flashing red font Smile

Mark, right now I'm working on a few UI tweaks (to accommodate Android 6 and 7 changes). If things go well touch probe will be done first, since it's a lot smaller change. Layout view support for lines and arcs will be next (no curves, though). I don't have a firm timeline yet, but the goal is to have those done by the end of the year.

Thank you
Yuriy

Apologies, I'm not sure what happened with the font size.

Thanks for the update Yuriy, i look forward to testing the new features.

By the way, i got the mixed scale board working with my quadrature scales. I had to changes some of the virtual ground comparator resistors. I'm thinking this is because the resistors were selected for 3v3 input instead of 5v. Probably should of bought the quadrature board really but the mixed scale board seems to work very well.

Thankyou so much for sharing your dro design. It has transformed my harrison milling machine (with bridgeport j head)  Smile

Mark,
Glad you like it Smile
Unless you have power feed that can go more than 2-3 IPs or use 1 micron scales the kit works "good enough" for Ditron-type 5 micron scales. I still have the scratch-built voltage divider on my mill with Easson scales and haven't had any problems. On the lathe I upgraded to the pre-made board, though. Turns out many magnetic scales are very particular about the input impedance and back-EMF, so the scale I have on the long axis was flaking out a LOT.

I'm surprised you needed to change the resistors, though. The board is wired so they will divide whatever the Vcc is for the scales.

Regards
Yuriy
