Best controller for iGaging Absolute DRO+in terms of refresh rates?
#1
Hi,

Hoping to put a DRO system together for a small milling machine and am planning to use the iGaging Absolute DRO+ scales (because of their reported good resistance to electrical noise) - was wondering if someone can tell me the best controller to use that would give highest possible refresh rates with these particular scales.

Any help is appreciated.

Swarman,
First of all, I wouldn't bother with the Absolute DRO scales. In my experience they are not much better than the much cheaper EZ-View to justify 2x price difference.
For Absolute DRO plus you have only one option: pre-made "iGaging" board. For EZ-View you can use the pre-made board, or scratch build one using either MSP430 or Arduino.

Hope this helps

I've got AbsoluteDRO+ scales and they don't read at all. I emailed Yuriy with no reply. The bluetooth connects and I get green display. The display jitters but does not read at all. Have any suggestions..??
Any at all would help.

Sorry, I didn't see/get your email. What controller/firmware are you using?

I received this board last week you emailed me you were going out of town and couldn't send it out till you returned.
The board is marked Rev. 2.1 then a small white tag marked 1.33. I'm going to try and attach some pics if this will help.

This board should definitely read the Absolute DRO+ scales. Are all your scales doing the same thing on all inputs?

Tried all 3 scales in the XYZ inputs and got the same thing.. I had a AccuRemote that was reading about 30 tho. off that's why I went and bought a set AbsoluteDRO+. Guess what it works. I don't know how accurate.. There must be something going on with the board.. What do you think..??

Did you plug in the scales before powering up the board? Absolute scales need to be auto-detected or the board will default to the 21 bit protocol.
