TI has their MSP430FR2433 Launch pad board on sale for $4.30 free shipping. Can this be used with present code for the MSP430G2553 used in the DRO Controllers.

I don't think so. I believe that chip has an 8kB memory space and the G2553 has a 16kB space. The code won't fit in 8k.
