Linear W axix

Is it possible to add an option for the W axis to be either linear, rotary or added to Z in mill mode

If you role back your app to build 2.0 you can use this feature. However it was buggy and was removed from beta 2.5 in favor of an angular W axis. Details can be found here:W axis info but I would do this at your own risk and probably would not base my entire build off this being reliable or supported in the future. What was your intended use? Maybe there is an acceptable alternative.
