Shahe/iGaging Accuremote/DigiMag physical dimensions

Hi all,

I plan DRO conversions for my lathe and mill, and intend to use the iGaging AccuRemote (=Absolute) scales and TouchDro. Space is an issue, especially on my mill, so I'd like to check whether they fit before I buy.


I scanned the net up and down, but could not find any detailled drawings/spec sheets containing all the physical measurements of those scales, especially the scale's thickness and the read head dimensions.

The Shahe homepage has some infos, I found some sketches of the mounting brackets:

but this is far from complete.

Can anyone help me out with a link to where I can find the missing specs?

I've used Shars aluminum scales for my lathe and mill, with the exception of the quill scale on my mill which is stainless (and required carbide to machine).  There is a dimensioned sketch of that one on their web site which will give you a starting point.  The M3 mounting hole spacing on the read head is the same for all of their scales, and I think it's the same on other brands as well.  I believe that the quill head, which has a display, has a body slightly larger than the read heads on the other scales, but I didn't measure the difference because it didn't matter to me.

But you're right that dimensioned drawings are scarce.  Printed drawings come with the Shars scales, though (and the aluminum ones are on sale).  I'll see if I can get some measurements tonight.
