Clausing 8520 Milling Machine Install
#1
I've got a thread going on Hobby Machinist detailing my ongoing installation project:

http://hobby-machinist.com/threads/claus...dro.62653/

I'm going with four scales (from Shars) and combining the Z axis and quill readouts.

I will be putting up some pictures here as well.

I put off doing the Z axis cover for a bit because I just couldn't stand it any longer:

You will note that the clock jumpers are all installed.  A few days ago I plugged the quill head into a display from one of the other scales to see if the output format was compatible, and was pleasantly surprised.  When the quill head is plugged into the Mixed Scale Board it provides data even when it has shut off its display.

All four axes are working:

The rest is just details Wink .  I need to button it up and get the box mounted somewhere (I haven't decided yet), finish the Z axis cover, and do some cable management.
