Hey Yuriy,
I have been using your touch DRO for about a year now and I love it.
One idea that I was thinking about would be to control a stepper motor so that I could make a 4th axis that rotated depending on the measurement of the x or y axis.
That would allow me to make a spiral.
Would it be possible for an arduino to "listen in" on the communications between the DRO Controller board and the android?
Even if it took over the connection temporarily that would probably be ok.
I don't think there are many ways to measure a distance accurately with an arduino sensor.
Tapping into the existing data stream would be a really cool way to do it.
