Solved : No scales !
#1
Hi everybody.
I've just finished soldering everything together.
Bluetooth works, I have paired my tablet, TouchDRO connects to the controller but when I move the scales, the digits do not change.
I have checked that the USB plugs are powered and that there are no short circuit.
Have you an idea of what's going wrong and what I can do ?
Regards
Thierry

Thierry,
Can you provide more information? What scales, which board, how did you connect them?
Does the board stay connected?

Hi Yuriy.
The scales are Shahe scales.
The board is a MSP-EXP430G2 with a M430G2553 chip.
The scales are connected through USB breakboards.
I just finished checking again the circuitry : everything is Ok.
All the jumpers are in place.
The red LED on the board flashes slowly (1 blink / second), the green LED stays on.
On the Bluetooth board, the red LED flashes quickly, then stays on. THE Board network is visible on my tablet, my smartphone and my computer.
On the tablet TouchDRO stays connected, but disconnects immediately if I use my Web browser. It reconnects automatically when I go back to TouchDRO.
How can I be sure the program is in the chip ? I've loaded it with MSPDEBUG (a Linux Ubuntu program). I'm running Mac, and I've got an old PC with XP on it.

Hi everybody;
Good news : one scale is visible Cool
What happened ?
I put my old PC back to work and downloaded the recommended programs.
I tried first to load DigitalReadoutBasic.txt, but although the program was correctly loaded, no scale was visible.
I tried then with the .hex file, and it works (for one scale - but I have to check the soldering again).
The green LED1 on the controller blinks slowly, but the red LED2 near button P1.3 flashes very quickly, is it normal ?

I've checked again the continuity of the USB breakboard and I can't find the problem.
The X breakboard (P2.3) doesn't connect the scale.
The Y breakboard (P2.4) connects immediately the scale and TouchDRO shows it immediately.
When I unplug the scale from Y breakboard and connect it to the X breakboard nothing happens.
When I plug it back to X, it connects immediately.
I use only one scale because the second one has a micro USB plug instead of a mini USB plug
Any idea ?
Thierry

SOLVED
If I had soldered the right wire at the right place, I wouldn't have made so much trouble.
I have soldered the X breakboard on P2.3 instead of P2.5.
Sorry for the trouble.
