Thanks Dave A

Dave,
yes, the Store page is up to date (i.e. if it's listed, I have it).
Thank you

You are looking for something like this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wall_wart_opened.JPG#/media/File:Wall_wart_opened.JPG
Newer power adapters use a switching power supply inside and are generally small and lighter. The old-style ones have a heavy transformer which provides mains isolation. You should be able to find quite a few in a thrift store for a couple of dollars. Look for ones that have output voltage between 6V and 12V.
I'll check if I have a small one in my "junk box" and if it fits into the box, I'll send you one with the board.

Hope this helps.
Thank you
Yuriy
I'm electrically challenged so please bear with me.
I've got plenty of the 'Iron' wall-warts sitting around.
- With a voltage of 6-12VDC doesn't it need to be stepped down to 5V for the Board?
I've also got some 5VDC mobile phone chargers but those must be the 'swtiching' style since they're so light in weight. I used one of them to power the Mitutoyo before I knew that the 'X' scale was wrecked.

Just built up my board today, and it works!  Went out and pulled a scale off my little Logan lathe and connected it up using one of the data cables I picked up on eBay:

Data Cable for Chinese Scales

Nicely done board, Yuriy.

Now I have to get it all mounted in a box and properly installed on the lathe, figure out a bracket for my Amazon Fire tablet, and figure out how to get a picture linked.

Good find for the cables. They are usually more expensive.

Like like quite the interesting design. I'm curious to give it a try. I can't quite figure out which board to order. It seems the plus model readers are not listed that way any longer according to any photos I saw. So I got agitated after spending half a day yesterday looking and just ordered a setup with magnetic scales from DroPro.

Since I jumped the gun and had already ordered one board from here that will not currently be used since it's USB. I'd like to know If the Quadrature board might work? The page says there are multiple order options but either I missed it of the page is smarter than me.

Am I gonna have much trouble setting these up?
http://www.dropros.com/DRO_PROS_Digital_Readout_Magnetic_Scale.htm

Always a challenge when doing new things. I've got as much tied up in DRO now as I do in the Lathe, lol

RE: Buying from Yuriy web page - Yuriy - 03-15-2017

The scales on the top of the page you linked are Electronica/EMS scales and they work very well with the Quadrature board. At some point EMS was interested in using TouchDRO so the quadrature board was designed specifically for those scales. I haven't plaid with the J2 scale, so I honestly don't know.
The setup involves soldering 6 or 8 pins to a D-SUB connector.
If you haven't used the board, send it back.

Thank ya Yurly. I have a mill too that I could use the other board on with the cheaper options for a while till I can get funds caught back up to do it better.

I look forward to trying your design out. Wish I knew more to not have to ask trivial questions and could ask something worthy of your time. I certainly hope to give a glow No review. So far the Reaponce time is weeks fast than I expected, lol.
