Full Version: Will a Raspberry Pi work for TouchDro?

First off I want to say that I'm an industrial electrician, not an electronics expert. Did manage to build a desktop PC, but that's about it.

I've acquired a 17" touch screen industrial monitor that I think would be superb for a DRO. Where I'm left pondering is about the best way to make the connection between the monitor and the TouchDRO. I've been reading and searching for a while as to the best and most economical way to accomplish this. The best idea I've come up with so far is to use a Raspberry Pi 4 with Android. Is this a viable idea? If not, any suggestions?

Thanks,
Aaron
Thanks for the quick response. Sounds like it is a possibility worth pursuing.

This is the monitor https://www.hopeindustrial.com/products/...t-monitor/

I see they have a Linux driver available for the touch function, which I think will work for Android.

Using a RPi seems like a more economical and cleaner solution than trying to use a tablet or Chromebook. Ultimately I have three machines that I'd like to set up with DRO.
I tried the latest LineageOS port to my Raspberry Pi 4 8gb a few months ago, and found it to be pitifully slow. My intention was to get TouchDRO running on it, but never even attempted it.

If you have better success, please post how you did it.
